TINA PIETERSE
How would you describe your own personal style?
Classic and comfortable. I never buy an item if I know for sure I’m not going to wear it more than once – shoes however are the exception, I will buy a pair because they are so pretty and I’m convinced I’ll wear them more than once.
What would you say is your number one fashion inspiration?
It would have have to be Social Media. The Daily Shoe is an awesome daily inspiration and Pinterest is an amazing platform for fashion ideas.
Favourite fashion magazine?
I don’t really rely on fashion mags. I’m more of a hands on kinda girl. I love window shopping and browsing the online shops like Spree, Laudable, Superbalist and so on. I’m lucky in that I know what I love and what suits my body type.
What are some of your current fashion obsessions?
Scarves and nail polish. A scarf can add so much to an all black outfit. I look for scarves everywhere I go – it drives my husband nuts! Nails say a lot about a woman – perfectly manicured and painted nails always look so much better.
What are the 5 shoes you think every girl should own?
A girl needs to have the following 5 pairs of shoes in her wardrobe:
1. Classic heels
2. A pair of gorgeous boots
3. Pumps
4. Sneakers or trainers
5. A beautiful pair of sandals
Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?
My rules are
– Dress for your body shape and type
– Wear what you love and feel comfortable in
– Coordinate your outfit colour-wise, print wise
– Accessorise
– Sometimes less is more
Where do you get your inspiration?
My inspirations mainly come from knowing what I like and taking it to the next level. I find that the older I’ve become, the more comfortable I am with trying new things in small doses and it seems to work.
What’s your next fashion must-have?
My next fashion must have would have to be a genuine pair of designer heels. I’m talking a swag pair of classic Manolo Blahniks or Jimmy Choos. Something insanely gorgeous and overpriced that I will keep in the box.
Coffee of tea?
Coffee all day, everyday. Hello my name is Tina and I’m an addict!
Heels or flats?
With two girls under the age of 4 and with me being a fashion deprived Nursing Sister by profession, I generally live in flats. I adore my pumps and T-bar sandals because they are comfortable and pretty. Needless to say, I do ogle heels as often as I can and may find some reason to buy them because ” I can wear these with so many things” or ” Look these are on sale and would go perfectly with my…” or simply, “I just have to have them!” What can I say – I appreciate a gorgeous pair of shoes!
Favourite shoe designer?
I have a few favourite shoe designers- Manolo is the man that can! Some of his shoes are way OTT but really make a statement. Good old Jimmy has classic beauties in his collection. Badgley Mischka, Giuseppe Zanotti, Christian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen *sigh* I cant choose! Locally I love Cinnamon and Jean Kelly – they satisfy my fetish for ballerinas. Converse is my go-to sneaker.
How many pairs of shoes in your wardrobe?
I currently have roughly 40+ pairs of shoes. Not nearly enough!
What is one thing our readers would be surprised to hear?
I have a pair of Biker boots (not fashion-inspired “Biker Boots” but real bike-riding protective boots) in my wardrobe. These I wear when hubby and I go out on the bike. They aren’t the prettiest but they get the job done.
Thank you Tina, for all your love and support!
